Mary Beth Squirrell – Embee Cavaliers, Canada

I was lucky to be introduced to the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel when I was 13 years old and working my first job with our local Veterinarian.  She owned a tricoloured named Annie that immediately stole my heart.  Many years later I graduated University, met my husband, purchased our first home and finally welcomed our first Cavalier, a tricolour girl named Zoey.  Through her I joined the Canadian Kennel Club, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Canada and the Cavalier Fanciers of Southern Ontario where I was mentored by several wonderful breeders.  It took me many years of learning and waiting to find the right foundation bitch for my breeding program before my first litter was born under the Embee affix.   I’ve completed several Canadian Championships and Grand Championships on my dogs, have won major placements at specialties both here and in the United States and have dabbled in rally and agility.  My passion is wholeoclours, but preservation breeding to ensure the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel maintains their beautiful type, incredible temperaments and overall soundness is paramount.  Thank you so much for inviting me to judge your specialty sweepstakes this year, I am looking forward to it!
